Vision: To passionately engage God, in order to release His transformative power in our lives and community.
Our vision for the Prayer Ministry at Grace Crossing comes from the foundational verse in Matthew 6:10 where Jesus says, "Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." We want to embrace Jesus' vision for prayer. Our strategy is to organize prayer events with like-minded believers who share the burden of Matthew 6:10 and have a holy discontent with the status quo that will commit to vigilantly pray.
Our ministry consists of three main types of intercession:
1. Our Intercessory Prayer Team has a Google group that receives personal prayer requests and commits to confidentially pray for each request sent over the Internet.
2. Each Sunday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., the Prayer Warrior Team meets in Room 115 for prayer to intercede for church leaders, Sunday services and anyone who has requested the team to pray over them. Some members of the Prayer Warrior Team meet for intercessory prayer during the week as well.
3. Our Prayer Event Team organizes events for our congregation and community to participate in times of prayer. This year, the Grace Crossing Prayer Event Team was in charge of the Collierville observance of the National Day of Prayer. Collierville united for this event with more than 30 churches participating to pray for our community in the areas of local, state and federal government, the media, law enforcement, firemen, our churches, our schools, and our families.
Anyone who would like to join any of the areas of the Prayer Ministry or would like to give a prayer request can contact gcpm@googlegroups.com.
